Malta's Stone-Deck Oven on Wheels

Fire, flour,
honest food.

A converted Bedford truck with a stone-deck oven — turning out rabbit stew, pastizzi still warm, and ħobż biż-żejt drizzled from Wardija olive oil.

// Moments

Not a menu.
A story told in food.

Close-up of flour-dusted hands stretching dough on a wooden surface, knuckles pressing into the soft white mass
Craft

Dough from the morning mix.

Overhead flat-lay of a Maltese food spread across butcher paper — pastizzi, ftira loaves, olive oil tin, fresh tomatoes, capers
The Spread

The whole spread, butcher paper and all.

Rabbit stew in a terracotta pot, braised with red wine and bay leaves, steam rising in the afternoon light
Heritage

Stuffat tal-fenek. Slow, always.

Wide shot of the Bedford food truck parked in a bastioned Maltese square with a queue of people forming at the service window at dusk
In the Square

The queue forms before we open the window.

Warm pastizzi with ricotta on a piece of brown paper, oil weeping through the flaky pastry
Pastry

Pastizzi riċotta. Still warm, still weeping.

Two people laughing while eating ħobż biż-żejt standing in a sunlit courtyard, oil on their fingers
People

Oil on fingers. That's the point.

Ħobż biż-żejt being drizzled with olive oil from a tin, tomatoes and fresh basil on the side
Ritual

Wardija oil. A tin, not a bottle.

Weddings

Standing, eating, talking. A proper feed.

Festa

The festa doesn't start until we arrive.

Weddings, festas, corporate.

WEDDINGS

Feed your guests, not a centerpiece.

Forget the sit-down dinner nobody remembers. Ftira sets up in your courtyard, farmhouse, or bastjun — your guests eat standing, talking, licking their fingers. We bring the oven. You bring the people.

VILLAGE FESTAS

The festa doesn't start without fire.

We've fed festa committees in Żebbuġ, Naxxar, and Qormi. The truck parks in the square, the oven fires up at noon, and by evening the whole village knows the smell. Book us for Saturday and we'll be there before the band.

CORPORATE EVENTS

More honest than canapés.

Your team doesn't want another plated lunch in a hotel ballroom. Ftira parks outside your office or venue — the smell of woodsmoke does more for morale than a motivational speaker. Minimum fuss, maximum food.
